SJ4060 Metal Badge Epoxy Doming: Random Placement and Custom Fixture
Three demonstrations show metal logo badges, two badge sizes and portrait badges with rear pins. All use epoxy resin and SJ4060 vision positioning.
Browse All Case StudiesWhat These Demonstrations Show
These SJ4060 runs show two separate production considerations: locating badges placed at varying positions and keeping the dispensing surface level when a badge has a pin on its back.
Vision positioning is used in all three demonstrations. In the portrait-badge run, a custom aluminum fixture supports the workpieces above their rear pins so that the faces remain level during dispensing.
Resin and curing: These case samples use epoxy resin and reach full cure in 15–24 hours at room temperature, approximately 25°C.
Demo 1: Metal Logo Badges in Random Positions
Metal badges featuring the Moutai logo are randomly placed within the SJ4060 vision recognition area. The machine identifies their positions and completes the epoxy resin dispensing process.
Demo 2: Four Logo Badges in Two Sizes
Four Xijiu logo badges—two large and two small—are randomly positioned on the worktable. The SJ4060 uses vision positioning for the mixed-size layout and dispenses epoxy resin onto the badges. Both sizes are processed in the same setup.
Demo 3: Portrait Badges with Rear Pins
The portrait metal badges have pins on their backs, so they cannot lie flat directly on the worktable. A specially made, elongated aluminum profile fixture provides clearance for the pins and supports the badges with their dispensing faces level.
The SJ4060 still uses vision positioning to locate the badges before dispensing epoxy resin. The fixture supports the workpieces; the camera provides positioning.
Why the Rear-Pin Fixture Matters
For the portrait samples, the rear pin changes how the badge rests on the table. The fixture solves this support problem by keeping the resin-receiving face level during dispensing.
For a fixture matched to your badge, send a back view, the pin dimensions and the face dimensions. The clearance and support points must fit the badge construction to keep the face level.
Prepare Your Badge for a Sample Review
- Front and back photos: show the rim, surface detail, pin and other protrusions.
- Dimensions: face size, thickness, rear-pin height and intended placement.
- Materials: metal, plating, print or coating, and epoxy resin specification.
- Required finish: target coverage and dome appearance, plus curing and adhesion requirements.
- Production plan: designs per run, target quantity and loading method.
Use your actual badges to test positioning and resin coverage, then check the cured finish and adhesion against your product requirements.
Questions About Badge Positioning and Fixtures
Does the fixture replace vision positioning?
No. The portrait badges are still located by vision. The aluminum fixture provides clearance for their rear pins and keeps their faces level.
Can two badge sizes be processed in one setup?
The Xijiu example demonstrates four badges in two sizes on the same worktable. A new size combination should be checked against its own recognition and dispensing requirements.
Do all metal badges need this fixture?
The demonstrated reason for using it is the rear pin that prevents the portrait badge from lying flat. Review the support needs of your own badge rather than assuming the same fixture is required.
Which resin and curing conditions are used?
All three videos use epoxy resin. These samples reach full cure in 15–24 hours at room temperature, approximately 25°C. Confirm the resin grade and its suitability for your surface and required finish when reviewing a new product.
