Quick Answer

This SJ4060 demonstration uses a 5-needle dispensing module to process 4 rows of identical labels, with 5 products in each row. One program cycle takes approximately 20 seconds from start until the needles return to the waste-discharge position. Needle 1 is the reference: the other needles repeat its movement and dispensing amount at their fixed lateral offsets. The layout must match the needle spacing and remain aligned along the X axis.

Demonstration Record

  • Machine: SJ4060 with a multi-needle dispensing module.
  • Needles: 5.
  • Products processed: 4 rows × 5 identical labels = 20 products.
  • Approximate program cycle: 20 seconds, from start until return to the waste-discharge position.
  • Resin: epoxy resin.
  • Full cure: 15–24 hours at room temperature, approximately 25°C.

For production planning, allow time for loading, unloading, curing and inspection in addition to the dispensing cycle.

Why Needle 1 Is the Reference

In this configuration, the five needles operate as one coordinated arrangement. Needle 1 provides the reference movement and dispensing amount. Needles 2–5 repeat that same action at their respective positions; they do not each recognize a different label and correct their position independently.

For that reason, the sheet must contain identical labels with the same orientation and dispensing requirements. The relative label positions must match the physical needle spacing. Vision positioning does not remove these geometric constraints.

Recognition Area: Select Only the First Row

  1. Use identical labels throughout the sheet. Confirm that the label shape, size, orientation and required resin amount are the same.
  2. Define the recognition area around the first row only. For this multi-needle setup, do not draw one recognition area around every label on the whole sheet. The first row is the reference area for the first-needle setup.
  3. Match label pitch to needle spacing. The labels assigned to the other needles must sit at the corresponding fixed lateral offsets from the reference label.
  4. Keep the repeated labels aligned along the X axis. Each row must remain parallel to X, with the corresponding labels aligned with the reference label. A skewed row or an individually shifted label breaks the shared alignment.
  5. Validate the complete layout on an actual sample. Check dispensing position and resin amount at all five needle positions before accepting the setup.

What Causes Misalignment or Resin Overflow?

The other needles follow the reference action; they do not automatically compensate for a label that is shifted or rotated relative to its expected position. If a row is not parallel to the X axis, or the label pitch does not match the needle spacing, the reference needle may remain correctly positioned while another needle dispenses too close to an edge or outside its label.

Different label shapes or resin-volume requirements also make the repeated reference action unsuitable. These mismatches can cause off-center dispensing, failed domes or resin overflow. Confirm alignment and dosing across the entire five-needle arrangement.

Choosing the Right Multi-Needle Setup

Consider this SJ4060 configuration for repeated, identical labels whose orientation and spacing match the multi-needle module. It is unsuitable for mixed label shapes, different dosing requirements or independently shifted labels within the same needle group.

Multi-needle dispensing is also available on compatible DJ771 configurations. For stable regular sheets, DJ771 is usually the simpler first option; select SJ4060 when its vision positioning addresses a verified alignment need.
