Create a new file, set the real sample height, adjust the available lighting and learn one stable contour or feature. Draw a controlled scan area and use Scan Sample on representative parts to check missed and false matches. Only after recognition is reliable should you draw and debug the dispensing trajectory, save the processing file and test one sample. A temporary successful match is not yet a production file, and there is no universal similarity value.
Before You Start
- Confirm the required camera/motion calibration and nozzle reference are valid for the real product height.
- Use representative production samples, fixture/background, surface finish and printing—not an unusually clean demonstration piece.
- Use only the lighting installed on your machine. Optional table backlighting can make the shared outer contour easier to detect on same-shape products with different printed designs. It supports outline positioning, not identification of the printed design.
- Confirm the approved method for disabling resin delivery before motion-only debugging. Use the trained speed, clearance and obstacle checks.
- Keep advanced laser height, automatic tool setting and other optional modules outside this beginner workflow.
Step-by-Step Procedure
- Select File → New File and create a clearly named processing file.
- Enter the measured sample height. Adjust exposure and installed light channels until the intended feature has a clear, repeatable edge without glare or lost detail.

- Select Select Sample. Draw a closed region around only the stable feature needed for positioning; right-click to auto-close the shape, then confirm.

- Define a scan area that covers expected product positions without unnecessary background. Use Scan Sample across representative parts and positions.
- Judge the similarity threshold by results: a higher value is stricter and can miss valid parts; a lower value accepts more variation and can create false matches. Adjust it only while checking both failure types. Do not copy a threshold range from another sample.

- After the template passes recognition tests, open Set Trajectory and draw the required point, line, arc or polyline path. The camera records XY; set and verify the real Z values through the approved height workflow.
- Set only the process parameters required by the sample. Do not copy the speed, delay or lift values visible in a screenshot.

- Disable dispensing by the confirmed control, then use the software’s single-step or simulated motion functions to verify the complete path and fixture clearance.
- Save the completed template and trajectory, load the resulting processing file in the file list and confirm the intended file is selected.

- Purge into waste, enable resin and run one representative sample. Check start, end, edge clearance and dome coverage before production.
Completion Checkpoints
- Representative parts are recognized without obvious missed or false matches.
- The learned contour follows the intended stable feature rather than background or glare.
- The scan area covers expected positions but excludes unnecessary background.
- The saved processing file contains both the tested template and complete trajectory.
- The motion-only check clears the fixture and one resin sample meets the job acceptance criteria.

Stop and Contact Robota When
- Recognition changes unpredictably across representative parts after lighting and scan-area checks.
- The product is transparent, highly reflective or lacks a stable visible feature.
- The nozzle path remains offset after the real-height, camera and nozzle checks.
- Motion approaches a fixture or table edge, or the installed software/modules differ from this tutorial.
